Summer Check-in: Macy Day '15

As mentioned in last week's post, we'll be catching up with a variety of our team members this summer to see what life is like outside of Boston. Our first summer check-in is with sophomore defender Macy Day. Here's a look at what she's up to at home in New Hampshire - lots of work (fun work it sounds like), lax, and coffee involved.

Where are you spending your summer break?
Macy: I am spending the summer at my home in Rochester, NH.  Working, working out, and laxing on the beach with my girls.

What does your typical day look like in the summer?
Macy:
I wake up early everyday, try and look good, then head to work.  After work I go to my internship, where I am lucky enough to be working at baseball games. Then I go out for a nice run.  The night ends with time with my friends doing random things.

If you have a job/internship, give us a little rundown of what you do:
Macy:
I work for a minor league baseball team, the Seacoast Mavericks, made up of Division I college students. I am their marketing intern and I handle bios, Seacoastmavericks.com, promotional aspects and deals with advertisers. I also get to attend each game and do write-ups, some broadcasting and announcing.

What are your favorite summer activities?
Macy:
I absolutely love going to the beach. I am always running, laxing it up everywhere and drinking coffee.

Are you taking any trips this summer?
Macy:
I do not travel.  I do not have time to travel.  And I hate planes.

Will you get to see any EC Laxers over the break?
Macy:
I have plans to meet up with Marissa Nobile and live close to Sophia Mitropoulos so I will be at her family’s pizza place too often.

What do you miss most about being at Emerson?
Macy: I miss seeing my friends every day and having practice for a sport.  As much as I love the suburbs, I do miss the skyscrapers and the pace of being in the city.  I miss the Fitness Center most though!  I can’t walk to the gym anymore...I have to drive. I will be spending plenty of time with my family but will also miss working all the athletic events with my fellow Emerson co-workers.

2012 Season Recap

The Lions ended the 2012 season in the GNAC semi-finals on April 28th.  While not the outcome we wanted, the team fought hard, as they had all season.  This year was a transition one for us, filled with many new faces. We were unsure of what to expect heading into the season back in February, but a tremendous amount of heart, dedication and fierceness accounted for the success we achieved this year.   A big thank you to all of our supporters: parents, fans, Emerson Sports Medicine and Emerson Sports Information. We look forward to taking ECLax to new heights in 2013!

Congratulations to our 2012 award winners:
