Community Service Event: Boston Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
As promised, here's a photo montage of EC Lax helping out on the Esplanade for Boston's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. The walk was a great success and the team had a beautiful day for their efforts. They even managed to have a little fun, too...

The Amazing Adventures of Krystie and Mack!
We hope everyone's weekend was enjoyable and fall-like. The weather was mild for Boston Octobers, but no complaining here. This week's post marks the introduction of a little log being kept by two of our world-traveling juniors, attacker Mackenzie Johnson and captain and defender Krystie Zoch. We'll let them do most of the talking here - enjoy!
Hallo (ß that’s hello in
Dutch), everyone!!! As most of you already know, Mackenzie and I are spending
our fall semester in Well, The Netherlands. We get to live in a beautiful
castle and travel every weekend. We have been meeting a ton of new people and
visiting a ton of different places! We are living it large over here in the
Netherlands. There are even two moats!
To say the least, we feel like princesses. The castle is in a small town called
Well. And when we say small, we mean small. But once our travel weekends end,
coming back to a small town is a nice break. We basically have classes Monday
through Thursdays and then you have Friday (sometimes Thursdays if you get out
early enough) through Sunday to travel anywhere you’d like. Even though we have
only been here for about three weeks, we are already in love with everything!
The
next weekend, Mackenzie and I spent a romantic get-away/our honeymoon together
in Barcelona, Spain. Of course, with our luck, it rained the entire weekend.
But you guys know us; we made the most of it. The beaches were lovely
(regardless of the lack of sun), and the nightlife is so much fun! They have
the most interesting clubs and bars! We went to this one bar where the prices
of the drinks follow the stock market. We had a blast!
Last
weekend, we spent about three days in Edinburgh, Scotland. The city contains a lot
of history and a lot of haunted myths. The first day we toured Edinburgh and
went to the National Museum. We also ate lunch in the same café that J.K
Rowling wrote Harry Potter! The café was called The Elephant House. It was so
adorable and had the best baked potatoes ever. The second day was
more adventurous. A group of us hiked up to Arthur’s Seat (they say it’s a
hill…. don’t fall for it). It was a rough two hour hike in boots, jeans, and
sweaters, but we survived. The hill/mountain looked over the ocean and the
entire city of Edinburgh. The hike was well worth it, the view was the most
beautiful thing we have ever seen.

On our first travel weekend, Emerson
brought the program to Amsterdam. The city was absolutely beautiful! There are
canals and BIKES everywhere. Beware when/if you go to Amsterdam….. the bikers
will kill you- we repeat- will kill you. They don’t stop for anybody. The first
week we were in The Netherlands we were explained that Dutch people cherish
bikes more than they cherish God.

Fall Play Day Re-Cap and Boston Making Strides Walk
Hi Everyone!
Emerson Lacrosse was everywhere this weekend. We started the weekend volunteering for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Boston. The walk was held on Sunday October, 14th, but since we were going to be in Fitchburg for our play day, we put our efforts towards prep work on Saturday. The team spent the afternoon putting together snack boxes for all of the walkers at the Charles River Esplanade. We'll have some pictures soon, but you can check out more about the event held nationwide here.
This past Sunday's play-day at Fitchburg State was a HUGE success for EC Lax. The team started off strong and finished the day 4-0! Our offense clicked on some awesome connections while the defense was a strong unit all day, anchored by a great performance in the net by VK the GK! All in all it left us excited and energized about what's to come. February is less than four months away!

Fall Play Day October 14th
UPDATE: Fall Play Day Schedule has been changed. We will now be playing 4 30 minute games instead of 5 20 minute games, beginning at 11:10AM. We still hope to see as many of our fans as can make it!.
